pretty much. as someone said before, faint is usually more "effeminate" and often used to describe when someone loses consciousness because of some kind of psychological or emotional shock, where as ping out refers more to losing consciousness because of something physically happening to you. but yes, they're synonyms, they mean the exact same thing.
