X and Y chromosomes follow the principle of segregation. What does this mean?

It's B. Segregation describes the movement of chromosomes into the gametes with each gamete getting one of each logous pair of chromosomes. A is almost right except that X and Y do not have any crossing over. C is true but has nothing to do with segregation and D is a misuse of the word in this context.
